
A victim advocate will guide a child and their family member/s through each step of their visit at Kids FIRST. They will also provide referrals and answer questions families have.

A child-friendly interview conducted by a trained forensic interview specialist. Interviews are recorded to help reduce the number of times a child has to tell their story.
It may be appropriate for a child to be examined by a specially trained physician. The physician determines the child's medical and emotional needs, and gathers evidence.

If a child's case is accepted for review at the District Attorney's Office, Kids FIRST hosts grand jury on-site for the child and their family in a safe and familiar setting.

Mental health is a new program coming to Kids FIRST in 2021! Our goal is to reduce wait times for children that will benefit from specialized trauma informed therapy.

As the regional provider for northwest Oregon, Kids FIRST is eager to offer support and peer review to neighboring CACs and community partners.

Understanding & Addressing Sex Trafficking in Our Community

This presentation will provide a foundational knowledge of what sex trafficking, trends we see in our community, common indicators and an understanding of online enticement.
Participation throughout the training is encouraged as we would like to hear all perspectives and answer any questions you may have.

Roadmaps (Understanding Sex Trafficking Through Survivors' Stories)

An interactive training for community partners who work with sex trafficking survivors. Roadmaps was created with the input of lived experience experts and actual survivor stories. It is a 90-minute training where you will walk through the story of a survivor firsthand (kind of like a choose-your-own-adventure story) and then we will debrief and discuss the different perspectives. This training is only for 6 to 12 participants. (The activity includes written, graphic references that participants may find disturbing, offensive, and/or traumatizing. Please consider this when deciding if you would like to participate in this training)
